News on Biodiversity? An Analysis of the Biodiversity Discourse in European News Outlets in 2010 and 2022

To facilitate action on the global crisis of biodiversity loss, we need to understand the complexity and plurality of biodiversity values across Europe—and learn how to communicate its urgency more effectively.

The latest study, published by the researchers of PLANET4B dives into how European news outlets shape our understanding of “biodiversity,” revealing a complex and evolving public discourse. The researchers analysed over 550 articles of 9 countries to find answers to who, where, with what attitude, language, and system of arguments use the topic of biodiversity in public communication.
