Innovative experiment in the garden for women
A very special small community garden has joined the PLANET4B project. At GAIA Gartenberg, only women farm, and alongside the plants, a strong female community is also flourishing. This unique ecosystem provides an opportunity for the PLANET4B research to gain deeper insights into urban gardening, biodiversity, and the interactions between different social groups as part of the “City food for biodiversity and inclusion” case study.
Experts from Forum Urbanes Gärtners and IFZ have published a detailed analysis in Queer-Feminist Science and Technology Studies Forum about the garden’s background, operations, and the results of their research conducted among the gardeners: where they acquire their knowledge, what values and priorities they bring, what they expect from and gain from the garden community, and what diversity, inclusion, and accessibility mean to them.
